It was a quick and awesome weekend get away and I ended up eating in 3 different states!
Virginia:

I was very excited to return to Guapos.
I loved their fresh pressed tortillas and quail. And this visit's food (and drink lol) was equally as amazing.
The only thing different about this visit was the place was lively and bustling, while last visit was quiet. Probably due to a difference of a Friday night vs an odd time during the middle of the week lol.
With the restaurant so busy they even had employees 'on-stage' making the fresh pressed tortillas which was really fun to see!

The eats:
Guapo's gives each table free unlimited chips with a side of salsa and a spicey dipping sauce. But we also had to get queso... It was okay. The least impressive of everything at Guapos. Not the most flavorful nor spicey queso. It was interesting it came with thicker corn tortilla chips.

A testament to how good a Mexican restaurant simply includes Margs. I started off with pineapple and Alix got Blackberry. Both on the rocks.

And then there is the main course, which, of course, had to be the quail. I'm sorry but you have quail once and there is no turning back. It's simply too good AND unique of a food to consider anything else. And it comes with the fresh pressed tortillas. So clearly it's a winner.
My second drink was a frozen passion fruit margarita. It was pretty but not as good as the pineapple.

Washington D.C.:
Next up, il Canale in Georgetown, D.C.. I was especially excited for this restaurant as it has won awards for being one of the best restaurants in the world and is ranked #40 for best restaurants with a pizzeria in the U.S.

The restaurant recognizes its fame with walls filled with pictures of celebrities visiting the restaurant and news of the restaurants success.
I accompanied my best friend's family to this restaurant. For appetizers they ordered: Prosciutto e Melone, Bruschetta, and Caprese. Personally, I am not a fan of elements in each of these dishes, but enjoyed the parts I did try. As I didn't try the full appetizer I will not be ranking these foods.

For the main meal, my indecisive brain was grateful and excited that Mr. Flynn suggested getting a pizza for the table! (even though it ended up just being me and him eating it lol). At the waiters suggestion that Diavola was the best pizza we ordered that.
With pizza ordered I was able to request the lobster ravioli which was the featured image in many of il canale's 'best restaurant' newsletters.
Graduation weekend (and maybe a prom weekend based on guest's attire) may have been overwhelming to staff. Our waiters were nice but not personable and very short in responses. There were also quite a few missing foods from some of the meals my table modified due to allergies.

Maryland:
On our way back to New York I was in charge of choosing a restaurant. A lot of pressure on someone as indecisive as myself lol. After a quick skim of google reviews and a craving for food I have not had in a while, I chose The Lime Chicken.
Long story short, I struck a homerun! Located in Urbana Maryland, the surrounding town place was adorable. We then had the most incredible guest service experience thanks to our waiter Navi! The food and the service was so good Alix ran out to the car to grab cash for an extra tip and I wrote my first google review!

Lime Chicken Pollo is notably a takeout place with limited seating and the food being served in to-go containers. Which may explain why Navi was so quick to provide us with on-the house spicey potatoes while we waited for our food to be ready!
Navi also performed excellent service by checking in on us and asking if we needed anything. It was also cool to see his own passion and pride for his restaurant. Navi looked for insight in which of the homemade sauces we liked best, and when I requested the sides be changed of a dish he provided the requested sides free of charge so I could try the dish as it is traditionally prepared!

The main dish I got was the Pollo Saltado. This peruvian chicken dish traditionally comes with white rice and fries.
The menu was filled with so many tempting sides it was difficult to choose. Luckily Alix ordered a separate side of yucca fries since Yucca are bomb! And the sides I had requested were brussel sprouts and arroz chaufa (fried rice).
