Binghamton Garage Review

In searching for a mid-way point to grab a bite to eat between my parents and my partner's homes' we came upon Binghamton Garage. A taco bar serving innovative street-food dishes with locally sourced ingredients.

Little did we realize that Binghamton is a College town. And we decided to visit on Saturday March 16...the day before St. Patty's day. So yeah... let's just say there was some stereotypical college-aged activities going on all around us.

Unfortunately, this extra activity had the restaurant backed up with take-out orders. While the staff was friendly and apologetic we still ended up waiting about an hour before being seated. Our waitress was also good as she was very down-to-earth and made sure to keep us hydrated.

The food did take a while to come out (even the queso weirdly took forever) BUT let me tell you, it was worth the wait! Well, for the taco's at least, as these might be the very best tacos I ever had in my whole life!

Good vibes at Garage.
Close up of house-made tortilla chips with guac and queso,
The chips were the most mediocre of the food tried. They tasted fresh and homemade but WAY under seasoned. The guac also just tasted like chunky avocado. Queso, was typical for a good queso with a nice 'kick' to it.
Tacos covered with tiny diced tomatoes and cilantro in a flour tortilla.
I ordered the shrimp tacos and was nervous to try at first due to the large amount of tomatoes on top. However, the tomatoes were surprisingly not strong of a taste and instead just added to the juiciness of the taco.
Two pork belly tacos with lime cilantro and pickled red onion layered on a flour tortilla.
I traded a shrimp taco for one of Alix's Pork belly taco's and it was equally as juicy and delicious! The porkbelly also had a good charred vs. tender ratio.
Salad and taco
Initially I was disappointed they were out of 'garage fries' as a side option. BUT this salad DID NOT dissapoint. I think that Garage's secret weapon is their use of red onions and crema since this Salad (as well as the tacos) were FIRE.

Overall, I can confirm Garage deliver's its promise to provide tacos and good vibes with a Bri rating of 9/10 ⭐s. Just do your research about the surrounding area beforehand 😅. And if you're a Binghamton College kid, I can see this place being the ultimate vibe so def go give it a try!!
